How can I change some aspects of the mod myself?

I didn't quite agree with some of the decisions the AMK team made with this mod, so I would like to know how I can change them back to Vanilla myself.

 

For example, I would like to learn how to:

  • Turn tracers on bullets back on, so I know just where my own bullets are going, along with those of others.
  • Make short-barrelled shotguns and MP5s primary weapons again, so they can no longer be equipped in the pistol slot.

 

I would also like to know if there's a better texture for split-goggled gasmasks, because I don't like how it blocks your crosshairs. In real life you don't see the split down the middle for the same reason you don't purposely see your nose all the time; it won't obstruct your vision unless you cross your eyes and focus specifically on the split.

 

Anyone got some knowledge to share on this?

Thanks for the tracer code, but do I have to change the lines that read "tracer = off" to "tracer = on" as well to make tracers visible again?

 

And how do I make it so that the small amount of zoom that turns on whenever you use the iron sights of a gun (right-clicking by default) in the unmodded game reappears in this mod?

 

Thanks again for your help. I was hoping that you could also tell me how to get the other shotguns (the Winchester 1300 and the SPAS-12) into the rifle slot again, but I figured it out myself later on.
